It's that time of year where I am sad to say goodbye to my summer wardrobe and the beautiful warm weather and hello to teeth chattering cold, lots of layers, beanies, chunky knits and warm coats. Every year I have the daunting task of narrowing down my favorite styles of coats and jackets to purchase. I tend to be ultra picky when choosing my outerwear, since this is a piece that will get lots of wear. It's essential for my winter coat to contain all of these attributes, warm, versatile stylish and my least fav.....budget friendly. Sigh!;-/ This seasons "It" coat is the long and somewhat baggy hybrid trench/pea/cocoon type coat. This is one of those items that add that chictastic element to any outfit. Seriously, throw it on over a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans and a white tee with heels and bam...you are no longer in casual territory and instantly dressed up. I always love items that can give you an effortless upgrade. These long coats come in lots of colors and fabrics so there is one for every body type and style. However, to go along with this seasons other top trends, tartan/plaid and pale colors especially pale pink seem to be the top contenders so far. Personally I'm digging the camel or the black coats. Probably because I am a little obsessed with the minimal look and well....lets face it, black goes with everything and always looks good. I recommend you hurry and pick out your coat soon because it will be winter before you know it. Happy hunting!!!
